Google offers three ways to do it. Here is each one, how Bidhelm connects, and how to take access back.

1. Invite a person to your account

Use this for a colleague, a freelancer or anyone who needs their own sign-in. The person needs a Google Account.

In Google Ads, go to Access and security in the Admin menu.

Select the plus button.

Enter their email address and choose an access level.

Select Send invitation.

They accept from the email Google sends. Later, on the same page, you can change their level in the "Access level" column or remove them with "Remove access" in the "Actions" column.

Pick the level that fits the job. Google offers five levels: Email-only, Billing, Read-only, Standard and Admin. Standard and Admin can edit campaigns. Only Admin can give account access beyond email-only, change access levels, link Google Analytics to import conversions, and accept or unlink manager accounts. For monthly invoicing or a credit line, Google says the user needs Admin access.

Google also suggests adding at least one more administrator, so you do not lose access to your tags if one person becomes unavailable.

2. Link to a manager account

Agencies and teams running several accounts usually work from a Google Ads manager account. Google describes it as "a Google Ads account that lets you view and manage multiple Google Ads accounts", with a single sign-in for all client accounts.

The manager account sends a link request using your Customer ID, and an Admin on your account accepts it. Once linked, users with admin access to the manager account can work on your campaigns. If the manager account has ownership, they can also edit user access, managers and product links in your account.

3. Connect an app with Google sign-in

Software that works inside your account connects through your Google Account instead of a password. Google's own advice is clear: do not share your Google Account password with a third-party app. Instead, when an app asks for access, review what it asks for, sign in, and authorize it.

You can see every connected app on your Google Account's linked apps page, and remove access at any time. Google says that once you revoke an app's access, it can no longer access your data. You may need to ask the app's developer to delete data it already has.

How Bidhelm connects

Bidhelm is your AI marketing department. It connects the third way.

Start 14 days free. Card required, cancel anytime.

Connect your account. Sign in with Google and pick the account. Your account stays yours.

Read your first report. The first read of your account lands the same day you connect.

What the connection gives Bidhelm, as written on its security and pricing pages:

Write access to Google Ads, by OAuth token. It is the standard Google Ads permission, the same one any software that changes campaigns has to hold. Revocable by you at any time.

No Google password. Access is never by password.

Billing stays yours. Bidhelm can see whether billing is set up on your Google Ads account, never your payment card, and it does not change your billing.

Tokens stay on the server. OAuth tokens are never sent to the browser and are kept out of logs.

From then on, Bidhelm makes your ads, runs your campaigns and brings you leads, and reports every change it made and why.

What you keep

Your account. Bidhelm works inside it. Your campaigns, history and billing stay where they are, and every change Bidhelm makes also shows in your Google Ads change history.

A record of every change. Every change that ships is written to an audit log, kept 30 days on Starter and 90 days on Growth.

Your people. In Bidhelm, the people you invite sign in as owner, admin or member, each with their own sign-in. Agency clients see Bidhelm only if you invite them as a seat. A small number of Bidhelm staff can access an account to support you.

Your monthly total. You set it, and budget moves between campaigns inside it.

How to take access back

Turn automation off for an account in your Bidhelm dashboard. It takes effect right away.

Revoke Google access at myaccount.google.com/permissions. It takes effect immediately and does not cancel your subscription.

Disconnect. The work stops, and everything already live in your account stays as it is.

Cancel from the billing section of Settings. Nothing renews after it. Your plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for, and cancelling does not disconnect your account, so revoke Google access too if you want the work to stop now.

Is it a fit

Bidhelm is built for people who want their marketing run for them. It is less suited to teams that want to approve every change before it goes live.

Three numbers tell you what Google Ads will cost to get them: the leads you want, your conversion rate and your cost per click.

The formula

Clicks needed = leads you want ÷ (conversion rate ÷ 100). Round up to a whole click.

Monthly budget = clicks needed × your average cost per click.

Cost per lead = monthly budget ÷ leads you want.

Average daily budget = monthly budget ÷ 30.4.

Google Ads defines conversion rate as conversions divided by the ad interactions they came from, average cost per click as the total cost of clicks divided by clicks, and average cost per action (CPA) as the total cost of conversions divided by conversions. Google uses 30.4 as the average number of days in a month (365 ÷ 12), so dividing by 30.4 gives a daily budget to start from. On any one day Google can spend up to twice your average daily budget, but for most campaigns it never charges more than 30.4 times it in a month.

Worked example

These are example numbers, not results from any account.

Leads wanted: 20 a month

Conversion rate: 5%

Average cost per click: $2.50

Clicks needed: 20 ÷ 0.05 = 400 clicks. Monthly budget: 400 × $2.50 = $1,000.00. Cost per lead: $1,000.00 ÷ 20 = $50.00. Average daily budget: $1,000.00 ÷ 30.4 = $32.89.

Lookup table

Example monthly budget at an example cost per click of $2.50. Find your conversion rate on the left and the leads you want across the top.

Conversion rate

10 leads

20 leads

50 leads

100 leads

Cost per lead

2% (example)

$1,250

$2,500

$6,250

$12,500

$125.00

5% (example)

$500

$1,000

$2,500

$5,000

$50.00

10% (example)

$250

$500

$1,250

$2,500

$25.00

Your own cost per click changes every number here. To use your figure, multiply the budget in the table by your cost per click and divide by 2.50.

What to do with the number

Start from your real conversion rate. Pull it from the last 30 to 90 days in your account. A new account has no history, so treat any starting rate as a guess and check it after the first few weeks.

Raise conversion rate before you raise spend. In the table, moving from 2% to 5% cuts the budget for the same leads by more than half.

Watch cost per lead, not clicks. If cost per lead climbs above what a lead is worth to you, fix the ads, keywords or landing page before adding budget.
